New Pennsylvania Mask Requirement - Customers Without Masks Will Be Denied Entry

The Secretary of the Pennsylvania Department of Health, Rachel Levine, released a new order detailing additional safety measures for life sustaining businesses that are maintaining in person operations.  

Employees and Customers Must Wear Masks

These safety measures include both employees and customers  now being required to wear masks before entering the business.  Here is the quote directly from the Secretary's order:

require all customers to wear masks while on premises, and deny entry to individuals not wearing masks, unless the business is providing medication, medical supplies, or food, in which case the business must provide alternative methods of pick-up or delivery of such goods; however, individuals who cannot wear a mask due to a medical condition (including children under the age of 2 years per CDC guidance) may enter the premises and are not required to provide documentation of such medical condition;

Employee Temperature Screening

Employers must also screen employees temperatures and send anyone home that has a temperature higher than 100.4 degrees F.  

Other Precautions To Limit The Spread Of COVID19

In addition to the precautions from earlier orders like social distancing, there is also instructions about having cleaning protocols, notification protocols if an employee is found to be positive for COVID-19.  Then the employer will need to notify anyone that person came into contact with for over ten minutes.  Other precautions include hand washing at least once per hour, wipe down carts or baskets for each new customer, utilize at most every other cash register so they can be cleaned and rotated every hour, etc.
