Shots Fired Near 17th & Penn Cause President Trump To Be Removed From News Briefing

Shortly before 6PM today, shots were fired near 17th and Pennsylvania.  President Donald Trump was giving a press briefing at the time and was asked to leave by the Secret Service.  The Secret Service has confirmed that there was an officer involved shooting outside the White House.  The suspect is supposed to be in custody.

The Secret Service put out the following Tweet.

The Secret Service can confirm there has been an officer involved shooting at 17th Street and Pennsylvania Ave. Law enforcement officials are on the scene. More information to follow.
